Class I Directors
R. Andrew Eckert Andy Eckert joined Eclipsys Corporation as President and Chief Executive Officer and joined the Board of Directors on November 14, 2005. From March 2004 to November 2005, Mr. Eckert was CEO of SumTotal Systems, Inc., a provider of learning and business performance technologies and services. From 2002 to March 2004, he was CEO of Docent, Inc., until it merged with Click2learn to form SumTotal Systems. Previously, Mr. Eckert spent 11 years with ADAC Laboratories, where he served as CEO (1997 to 2001), Chairman (1999 until its sale to Philips Medical Systems in December 2000), and President (1994 to 1997).
Prior to ADAC, he worked in the consulting and finance industries with Goldman Sachs, Summit Partners and Marakon Associates. Currently, Mr. Eckert serves as a board member of Varian Medical Systems, an oncology capital equipment company.
Eugene V. Fife Eugene V. Fife is Chairman of Eclipsys Corporation. Mr. Fife joined the Eclipsys Board of Directors in May 1997 and has served as Chairman of the Board since January 2003. Mr. Fife comes to Eclipsys with more than 30 years of executive management, consulting and operations experience. Mr. Fife, was formerly a general partner of Goldman Sachs & Co., where he served as a member of the firm’s Management Committee and as Chairman of Goldman Sachs International. During his 26 years with the firm, Mr. Fife was responsible for managing the growth of its West Coast and European operations. He retired from Goldman Sachs & Co. in 1995. Mr. Fife’s healthcare industry experience includes serving as Chief Executive Officer of Illuminis, Inc., a medical information systems company, from September 1996 to October 2000, and as a member of the University of Virginia Medical Center’s Operating Board since 2002. He is also the founding principal of Vawter Capital, LLC, a private investment firm, a member of the Board of Directors of Caterpillar, Inc., and the Director of the Miller Center of Public Affairs at the University of Virginia.
Braden R. Kelly Braden R. Kelly has served on the Board of Directors since February 16, 2001. Mr. Kelly is a director of several public and private companies, including Healthvision, ProxyMed, Inc., Schaller Anderson and Tickets.com.
Class II Directors
Steven A. Denning Steven A. Denning is the Chairman of General Atlantic LLC, a global private equity firm. He joined the firm in 1980 and has built the organization into one of the leading global private equity investment firms focused exclusively on investing in companies that are providers of IT products/services or users of IT to deliver or change the underlying value proposition. He is currently actively involved in a number of private and public information technology companies in the United States and Europe including Hewitt Associates (NYSE:HEW), SRA International (NYSE:SRX), Gecis Global and Liberata. He is also a director of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC; TSX: TOC).
Jay B. Pieper Jay B. Pieper has served on the Board of Directors since May 1996. Since May 1995, Mr. Pieper has served as Vice President of Corporate Development and Treasury Affairs for Partners HealthCare System, Inc., the parent of Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc., and Massachusetts General Hospital.
Class III Directors
Dan L. Crippen Dan Crippen is currently self-employed as a consultant. From 1999 to 2003, Mr. Crippen served as Director of the Congressional Budget Office. From 1996 to 1999, Mr. Crippen was a founding partner of Washington Counsel, PC, a consulting firm.
Edward A. Kangas Edward A. Kangas served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu from 1989 to 2000. He also served as the Managing Partner of Deloitte & Touche (USA) from 1989 to 1994. Since his retirement from Deloitte in 2000, Mr. Kangas has served as a consultant to Deloitte and as Chairman of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. He is also Director of Hovnanian Enterprises Inc., a national homebuilder, and Tenet Healthcare Corporation, a healthcare services company.
