Vadodara is growing and so is its economy. There are a host of reported success stories and many more taking shape. CII, Central Gujarat Zonal Council mooted an initiative to transform Vadodara as a Knowledge City . The city administration, entrepreneurs, investors, policy influencers, and talent nurturers came together to accelerate this movement through a one-day conference held on 20 th January 2007 at WelcomHotel, Vadodara.

Mr. Mayank Trivedi President, Eclipsys India was the inaugural speaker of the first session. Mr. Trivedi illustrated how Vadodara was the ideal destination for knowledge organisations. He also participated in the panel discussion which crystallized the role of government, academia, and business houses can play in making Vadodara a knowledge city.

Other guest speakers present at the conference were Mr. Sam Pitroda, Chairman, Knowledge Commission of India, Mr. Manoj Soni, Vice Chancellor Maharaja Sayajirao University , Mr. M.K. Das, Municipal Commissioner Vadodara Municipal Corporation, Mr. Pradeep Udhas, Executive Director, KPMG to name a few.
